The following new titles have been added to the library’s electronic book collection : Emergency medicine manual; Goodman & Gilman’s the Pharmacological basis of therapeutics; Greenfield’s surgery; and Textbook of cardiovascular medicine/ Topol.

Hurst’s the Heart online has been updated to the 12th ed., 2008. Other electronic titles recently updated include Pediatric cardiology for parishioners, 4th ed., 2008; Williams textbook of endocrinology, 11th ed., 2008; Sabiston textbook of surgery, 18th ed., 2008.

The library recently updated to the 2008 edition of Magill’s medical guide (REF W 13 M194 2008). In addition to the print version the library now has access to the electronic version. Magill’s medical guide is described as “an up-to-date and easy-to-use compendium of medical information suitable for student research as well as use by general readers, including patients and caregivers.”

· Pediatric cardiology for practitioners, 5th ed. (WS 290 P236p5 2008)

· Brenner & Rector’s the kidney, 8th ed. (WJ 300 B838 2008)

· Marriotts practical electrocardiography, 11th ed (WG 140 W133m11 2008)

· Campbell’s operative orthopedics 11th ed. (WE 168 C192 2008)

Two new Pretest titles have been added to the library’s Blue book section: Emergency medicine (WB 18.2 R818e 2008) and Clinical vignettes for the USMLE step 1, 4th ed. (W 18.2 C640 2008). Also updated for this section were Medicine recall, 3rd ed. (WB 18.2 M489.5 2008) and Lippincott’s Q & A review for NCLEX-RN, 9th ed. (WY 18.2 B598L9 2008).
