For Refworks Users

We have edited Refworks and created a field for researchers to store their PMC ID#s. After importing their references, they would need to edit the reference, scroll down to user field 5 and key in the number. Then when writing an article or grant proposal, if they format their bibliography using the style "NIH-PMCID" the PMCID will appear in the citation.

See example below:
Wolfe AJ, Visick KL. Get the message out: cyclic-Di-GMP regulates multiple levels of flagellum-based motility. Journal of Bacteriology 2008 Jan;190(2):463-475. PMCID: PMC2223684

If the journal requires a different bibliography style email researchservices@lumc.edu; Jeanne Sadlik or Donald Nagolski will help edit the style so the PMC ID can be included for that style as well.
