Research & Access Services provides a full
range of services to support research, clinical, teaching, and
learning activities of Loyola University Health Systems and
the University as a whole. The following services are available:
Reference, Electronic Services, Information Management Education,
Computerized Literature Searches.

Reference service is available from 9:00 a.m. to
6:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.
Reference service includes answering factual questions, verification
of references, assistance in the preparation of bibliographies,
location of materials and appropriate information resources
within and/or beyond the Library, formal user education, and
personalized information management consultation.
The Library has 24 computers and two network printers
located on the main floor of the Library. Users can access biomedical
databases, electronic journals, electronic books, and the Internet
from these computers. Word processing or other softwares are
not available from these computers. Microsoft Office is avaiable
in the Learning Resources Center.
Formal user instruction, orientation tours, and
seminars are provided on a prearranged basis. Library seminars

Mediated computer searches are provided by search
analysts using a wide range of professional level retrieval
software and information resources. In addition to the primary
biomedical databases, the Library has access to hundreds of
databases with broad multi-disciplinary subject coverage. Searches
are initiated at the Research & Access Services desks in
the Library and are also accepted by mail, e-mail, phone, or
fax. Users can also do their own searches on a variety of databases
in the Library, from their offices or from home. For more information
