Electronic Journal Access

It is the policy of Loyola University Health Sciences Library (LUHSL) to provide access to online electronic journals via the Internet. Electronic journals are added to the LUHSL collection by selection decisions made by the Journals Selection Committee. All of the electronic journal subscriptions are subject to terms determined by licensure agreements. Access to electronic journals subscribed to by LUHSL is limited to Loyola University Health System faculty, staff, and students using computers on campus or computers that go through the Library Proxy Server. Some journal titles may require an additional user name andpassword or may not be available for remote access.

LUHSL will comply in good faith with all licensure agreements and adhere to copyright regulations. Downloading, electronic redistribution (e.g. sending articles via email, posting it on a web page, etc.), printing or archiving “excessive” portions (whole issues of a journal title,) is prohibited. Downloading graphics and tables may be prohibited without the express written consent of the publisher.

Copies
Generally , single printed copies of journal articles are permitted, provided that such copies are for the personal use of authorized users, and do not result in commercial distribution or re-distribution to unauthorized users. Substantial or systematic reproduction by users is generally not permitted.

Violations
Violations by individual users may result in licensor's withdrawal of access to ALL authorized users. Sharing of passwords or access information to electronic journals with persons not affiliated with Loyola University Health System is prohibited.

A list of the Library's electronic journals is available on the Library's home page. This area is restricted to users whose computers have a Loyola University Health System IP address.
