Library Workshops: Spring 2018

All of the workshops this semester will be avaialble in Group Room C in the library and online via Zoom. There are 10 seats avaialble in the library. The link to the online class will be delivered with registration.

  • RefWorks: Frequently Asked Questions
    Wednesday, January 24 at 12 pm
    This class hour-long class will cover some the most frequently asked questions when using New RefWorks. The first half will focus questions about creating citations from non-journal sources, creating custom files, and managing PDFs and references. The second half will focus on student submitted questions. Send your questions to Elizabeth Huggins at ehuggins@luc.edu by January 18.

  • Enhance your Online Classes with Zoom
    Tuesday, February 13 at 12 pm
    Enhance your online classes with Zoom, a simple and straightforward video conferencing software. In this class, we'll discuss settings that will make it easy for your students to connect, create breakout rooms in our class, and methods for storing and sharing your recorded class.

  • Scopus for Researchers
    Tuesday, March 6 at 12 pm
    Maximize your research output and save time on finding key references. This 40 minute workshop will explore when to search Scopus, its content, search structure, filters, and cited reference searching.

  • Getting Started with Prezi
    Tuesday, March 27 at 12 pm
    Join us to learn how to create more flexible, engaging, and memorable presentations with Prezi. Prezi is an open, web-based software that uses movement and spatial relationships to help you make more effective presentations.

  • Keeping Current in PubMed: Using RSS and Email Alerts
    Wednesday, April 18 at 12 pm
    Save time and learn about relevant new literature by saving your search strategy and creating automatic email alerts in MyNCBI. Explore PubMed's RSS feed feature which will display new results with links to the PubMed citations.
