The Health Sciences Library has access to citation
indexes on a pay-per-use basis. Because of the high cost of
access to these databases, the actual cost of all citation index
database searches performed by the Library will be passed along
to the requestor on a cost-recovery basis.
The cost of a citation index search includes charges for connect
time, the actual search, displaying the number of citations
for each article and, when requested, displaying the bibliographic
information for each citation requested. To reduce your potential
search costs, keep in mind that simply requesting the number
of citations for an article is much less expensive than retrieving
the actual bibliographic information for each retrieved citation.
The minimum charge for a citation index search is $15.00 per
article citation submitted, which covers a basic citation search
for the number of citations made of each submission. If the
bibliographic information is needed, the requestor will be notified
of the additional cost before the search is completed. Charges
are billed to the requestor’s department, for those affiliated
with the Loyola University Health System (LUHS) or the Stritch
School of Medicine (SSOM); Please provide your account number
with your request. Searches that are not chargeable to
a Loyola department must be paid by the requestor in advance;
Checks should be made payable to Loyola Health Sciences Library.
Questions regarding this policy may be directed to the Associate
Director of the Library. Thank you for your cooperation.
